Pack light, but remember the sun

A surf trip to Morocco rarely needs a huge suitcase. Tamraght is casual, most days move between the beach and the house, and boards and wetsuits can be arranged through your package. The most useful strategy is to bring comfortable layers and leave room for the things you find along the way.

For the water

Water temperature and conditions vary through the year. If you have a favourite wetsuit, ask us about the season before you travel. Otherwise, equipment can be organised as part of your surf week, which is especially convenient if you are flying light or starting out.

  • Reef-safe SPF 50 sunscreen and a lip balm with SPF
  • A rash vest or long-sleeve swim top for extra sun protection
  • A refillable water bottle and a beach towel
  • Your own surf wax or fin key only if you have a specific preference

For village days and cool evenings

Days can be bright and warm, but the coast often cools down after the sun goes in. Bring a light jumper or jacket, a pair of comfortable trainers or sandals, and easy clothes that feel appropriate beyond the beach. A scarf can be surprisingly useful for breeze, sun and travel days.

Travel essentials

Check your passport is valid for the full trip and make sure you understand the entry requirements for your nationality before booking. Travel insurance that covers surfing is a sensible choice. It is also useful to have a small amount of cash for cafés, markets and souvenirs, even though cards are increasingly accepted in larger places.

The one thing not to forget

Bring a little flexibility. Waves change, the best beach may not be the one you imagined, and the unplanned moments often become the stories you keep. We will take care of the local logistics so you can arrive ready for all of it.
